SIA Documents
When you take an SIA Qualification or apply for an SIA licence, you will need to provide documents that prove your identity and that prove your address. The documents are categorised as Group A or Group B.

In line with the Security Industry Authority’s documentation requirements, approved centres may accept one identity document from the revised Group A list and at least two documents from Group B
Group A Documents
Signed, Current & Valid passport of any nationality
Signed, Valid UK photocard driving licence issued by the DVLA
UK original birth certificate issued within 12 months of birth
UK biometric residence permit card
Driving licence photocard & its paper counterpart issued by the Driver and Vehicle Agency (DVA) in Northern Ireland
Group B Documents
• Bank or building society statement from the last 3 months (we will accept 2 statements, but only if they are from different banks or building societies)
• Utility bill from the last 3 months (we will accept gas, electric, telephone landline, water, satellite TV or cable TV bills but not mobile phone bills)
• Credit card statement from the last 3 months (we will accept 2 statements, but only if they are from different credit-card providers)
• Council tax statement from the last 12 months
• Mortgage statement from the last 12 months
Letter from the last 3 months from any of the following:
• HM Revenue and Customs
• Department of Work and Pensions
• Jobcentre Plus – or any other employment service
• Local Authority
• P45 or P60 tax statement from the last 12 months
• Paper version of a current UK driving licence (not the paper counterpart to a photo card)
• Driving licence photo card issued by the DVA in Northern Ireland (not the paper counterpart)
• Pension, Endowment or ISA statement from the last 12 months
• Valid UK firearms licence with photo
*SIA will not accept a two part driving license as both the Group A and Group B document
*Each of these documents must show your current address. Unless we say otherwise, we will not accept 2 of the same type of document. For example, we will not accept 2 council tax statements. we will only accept 1 council tax statement and 1 document of a different type.
*You are required to have documents from Group A & Group B if you wish to work in the security industry in any capacity:
Door Supervisor, Security Guard, CCTV Operative, Cash and Valuables in Transit Operative or Key Holding.
Photographs
You are also required to provide two passport sized photographs with a white background. If you do not have the photographs on the first day of training please arrange to provide these on your second day of training.
If you are doing more than one course or training you shall require additional photographs depending upon the number of courses you are taking.
Documents required for SIA (Security industry authority) linked qualifications:
As per SIA instructions, in order to sit in the examinations which lead to an SIA qualification the learners are required to ensure that the documentation is complete. It is your responsibility to have these documents with you, you are required to ensure that you have the documents as per the list mentioned above during your examinations.
If you do not have the documents during your examinations you would not be able to sit in your exams. We may pose a penalty to carry forward your exam which may be up to the full amount of the course fees. Should you have any questions please call us on 03301225339.

As per SIA instructions:
Each document should be the original, physical document. We will not accept a scan or photocopy – unless we have told you that we will accept a notarised copy.
(Notarised Copy: A notary is a type of lawyer who has the authority to say that certain documents are real and authentic. If you send us a notarised copy of your passport, you must include a signed and dated letter from the notary. We will not accept a notarised copy of your passport if the reason you want to send it is because you need your actual passport for travel).
If any of your documents are not in English, you must give us both:
• the original document
• an English-language translation from an approved translator
You need to arrange the translation of your document into English and pay any costs.
We only accept translations from the following:
• embassies, high commissions or consulates
• translators who are accredited by the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (ITI) and hold qualified or corporate membership
• translators who are fellows (FCIL) or members (MCIL) of the Chartered Institute of Linguists (CIOL) • translation companies that are accredited by the Association of Translation Companies (ATC) and hold full or overseas membership

A copy of your identification document and photograph will be securely stored by the training centre for three years from your final assessment.
