Lee-Ann Bonny

FdA, BA, PGCE/Pcet, NCRQ

I am a PGCE/Pcet qualified teacher.

I formerly taught Music Industry & Vocals for 8 years at college level.

I have specialised in vocal study, performance & music theory since 2005.

My alumni includes signed & touring acts, session singers, actors & stage performers.

I have been teaching since 2005. I have been a singer & performer since 1994, before I was even in secondary school.

I have 2 music degrees, 1 in Music Industry and the other a Bachelor of Arts.  I am also a fully qualified teacher, achieving a PGCE/Pcet in 2009 although I had already been teaching at college level from 2006.

I have been teaching vocal practice, performance & music theory as well as stagecraft privately for almost 20 years.  In this time, my singers have achieved many goals successfully in their careers.

I taught Btec Diploma Music levels 2 & 3 at Coleg Gwent until 2012. I was a course leader for level 2 Music, Welsh Baccalaureate and the level 2 Deloitte Workskills programme. I taught event setup and promotion, popular music history, stage setup, live sound and live stage performance as well as event production and some extra-curricular classes including music theory and theatre/musicals based performances.

Some of my singers have become touring musicians, recording artistes, session singers & actors.  Some have taken part in competitions and reached final rounds for X Factor & BGT. Others have kept singing for fun and sometimes sing on social media posts.  A lot of my singers write and perform their own music or work with bands to record - 2 of them have gone on to become PGCE/Pcet qualified themselves & one has written a musical that’s about to be previewed on the west end!

I'm always so very proud of anything my students have achieved & most of them keep me up to date of their career progression or anything they're doing musically.

More recently, I have had an extensive career in event security. I have assisted in running teams in venues & on major events, worked in front of stage pits, trained search and queue management teams and now am a qualified security trainer.

Music Industry is my life, my passion and I want so much for the people who work in the industry to have the best possible training so that we can all enjoy our work and give gig-goers the experience of a lifetime!
